Unhappy ATI R9600XT 3D accelerator unavailable

Hi!

I have bought a Sapphire R9600XT 256MB 128bit Vivo graphics card. I have linux Suse 9.1 Pro. When i put my new card into computer, the X server did not start.

I have found a newest driver for ATI and install it without any problems. I have a 1280x1024 resolution and very good quality of 2D. But i can not run any 3D programs!

When i use yast to change the configuration (enable 3D accelerator) i see a message, that the 3D accelerator is unavailable. Why???

How i can enable 3D?

Best regards,
Piotrek.

This is the closest answer I have found myself over that last 18 months.
