Exclamation ATI + PCI express + Xorg = help

Hey

I'm the lucky owner of a ATI X700 video card (PCI express).
I'm using mandrake 10.1.

I downloaded the ATI drivers rpm package (for xorg6.8), installed it, and according to ATI's manual I'm supposed to run "fglrxconfig", but the "fglrxconfig" wants to edit my Xfree86-conf. Mandrake 10.1 uses XOrg 6.7, right? Now what?

When I boot, mandrake stops in runlevel 3 and I get an error:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(EE) unable to locate/open config file
Using vt 7
xf86AutoConfig: Primary PCI is 1:0:0
Running "/usr/X11R6/bin/getconfig -X 60700000 -I /etc/X11,/usr/X11R6/etc/X11,/usr/X11R6/lib/modules,/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/getconfig -v 0x1002 -d 0x5e4b -r 0x00 -s 0x1043 -b 0x0058 -c 0x0300

getconfig.pl: Evaluated 23 rules with 0 errors.
getconfig.pl: Weight of resuŠlt is 500.
New driver is "ati"
(==) Using default build-in configuration (53 lines)

Fatal server error:
Cannot run in framebuffer mode. Pleace specify busIDs for all framebuffer devices.

XIO: fatal IO error 104 (connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there a linux Guru who has some ideas or maybe a link?

\Michael
