We all know, that FC2 uses x.org and no longer xfree86. But on the official ATI Website there is only a driver for Xfree86. My Graphic card runs well under 2D with native drivers, but in 3d it sucks. Is there any where a driver for x.org, or must I Change to xfree86 for correct working 3d.
I use a fully updated FC2
for more informations please ask me
have you resolved the problem of xfree86 vs Xorg, and ATI drivers...?
if so, how?
I'm pretty new to Linux, by the way... my FC2 installation is still version 1.358, but I think the latest is 1.521, which I could obviously update to if it helps...
afaik, X.org is somehow compilant to XFree 4.4, so as soon as there are some ATI drivers for XFree 4.4, X.org >= 6.8 should also work... Alternatively, you could downgrade to Xorg 6.7 and use the xfree 4.3 drivers from atitech.com
