ati and ut2004

Hi all.

I need some help getting OpenGL to work.

When running Wolfenstein Enemy Territory as root everything works perfect. But if I try Americas Army or UT2004 I can almost not even read the text, and when I start the game it is almost impossible to see the screen at all. For Americas Army the computer hangs when I try to deploy.

I also get this message from UT2004:

Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0"

One other thing; why do I get 1400 frames per second (glxgears) as root while I get 450 FPS as user.
I even have to log in as root to start any of these games. If I start as user the game crashes.

Please help me

:-)

I get the same error message in ut2004, although it does not seem to affect the game.

check the permissions with which the fglrxconfig script set. Run the script again selecting no restrictions.

Other than that check the folder and file permissions on the game. Check another games permissions and copy those, if you find differences.

peace out
