Atheros Based Card

Hi All,
I've a Toshiba Tecra S1 with a Centrino 2100 WIFI. From what i've read on the web, the Atheros based card are alot better. I've looked on Ebay to get one but they are all Mini PCI card and I don't know if I've a mini PCI port on my laptop.

Anyone can suggest me a model of wifi card (pcmcia or usb) which is based on Atheros chip.
Thanks

It is somewhat difficult to recommend a card, since a manufacturer can change the chipset without notifying the customer. That is, a friend can have a wireless adapter that uses the chipset, but the version you buy a year later may use a different chipset. FWIW, I have an old Netgear WG511 (cardbus/PCMCIA) that uses the Atheros chipset. Although I am no fan of Netgear, that is one example. You can also check the user comments for any card that looks interesting to you at places like newegg and see if some Linux users have worked with a particular card.
