ok so I have been working to install a ubuntu-server machine here. I had it going before and then I went to shred three of my drives. So I had /dev/sdb, /dev/sdc, and /dev/sde. sde and sdc are on the sata card. the sata card is a
Promise Sata300 TX4. so sdc shredded fine, sdb shredded fine, then sde started a little bit and then now it keeps outputing
Code:
[42980691.530000] ata6: command timeout
[42980691.540000]ata6: translated ATA stat/err 0xff/00 to SCSI SK/ASC/ASCQ 0xb47/00
[42980691.540000]ata6: Buffer I/O error on device sde, logical block 28
and then it reprints that out every 20 seconds or so with the 540000 number going up to 550000 and so on, and the block goes up one every time. I then returned both the drive and the card and got new ones, and now with the new once, I am getting the exact same error, is this hardware or software??? What can i do?
Thanks!!
