asus motherboard with soundmax soundcard in redhat

I have an asus KM400/KM266 motherboard with soundmax soundcard.
I work in red-hat 9.
I can't hear any sound or find any driver for sound that can be used for soundmax in redhat.
How can I do it?
Plzz be a bit descriptive as i am not very experienced...

Hi sutapa, welcome to lq. First try running a mixer and unmuting sound, if that doesn't work, please post the output of the following commands from kosole.

/sbin/lspci -v

Just copy and paste the results.
good luck.

<edit> I think those soundmax series cards are analog devices chipsets, if I'm right this should help.

Again, good luck. </edit>
