Asus M2N-SLI Motherboard internet connection problem

I'm a linux newbie who has just upgraded to a M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard with an AMD 64 x2 4200 cpu.I dual boot between Windows XP Pro and recently SuSE 10.2 64 bit which is running a 2.6.18.2-34-default x86_64 kernel. The problem i'm having i cannot connect to the internet as my ethernet connection isn't recognised and i cannot seem to configure it manually. Any help would be much appreciated.

I had the same problem. After updating my bios and running some opensuse updates it disappeared.

To solve it temporarily you need to shut off your computer completely (pull cable) after having booted windows. If you boot linux first (after complete power cut) it should work right away.
