I recently purchased this mother board to assemble a new rig, after a few testing on it i was able to boot many linux live cd's but after setting it up including bios updates there is no linux distro (nor 32 or 64 bits) that are now able to work they all get frozen while loading the Kernel :S... i have tried reflashing original BIOS from the backup including reflashing the newest or in between Bios images and got the same result.
Mother board Asus Crosshair V formule latest BIOS
Processor: AMD FX8150
Kingstone Hyper X Ram 16GB.
SATA HDDs... and LITEOn Sata DVD drive.
i was thinking that this could be caused by a BIOS setting but i had no luck trying to figure out which one is causing this issue to linux... the other OS works fine.... but i miss linux.
any insights or advice would be really appreciated.
Well it's been months, and i just can't solve my problem, nomsi option did no good, i have other issue as well (additional to not booting linux) during boot sequence keyboard is not usable even though is listed as detected so i'm not always able to input parameters when trying to boot linux (any distro any CD, or usb), I'm afraid I'll have to stick to win OS or get a different mobo, what i believe is giving trouble is the UEFI Bios... since when linux tries to boot i just got a grey screen after grub start to load the kernel and that's it, CP reboots.... I'm clueless on this and so disappointed on this ASUS Mobo....
(i have tried, ubuntu, mint, slack, savayon, and a huge etc in 32 and 64 bits with no luck)
