Assign function to extra mouse buttons

Hi to all,

Well let's say this is my first post here

I've got a Microsoft Trackball Explorer USB connected to my Linux Box. My Trackball has a wheel which can be used to click too when pressed. Within M$ Windows, I've got Intellimouse (is that the right software name?) to configure the wheel click. I like to assign it a double-click.

Is that possible under Linux? Please note that the wheel IS working, I need to assign it a second function when clicked.

I am running CentOS 4.2.

P.S. sorry for my english, I speak french

Best regards,
Stéphane Brault

X/unix uses the middle button to paste the selection (cut-n-paste), so I don't recommend trying to do this. I don't think it can be done anyway.

Don't think so. It's built into X.
