arggg!! how to find my printer!!!???

hey i have a USB printer, its a HP deskjet 3420 i forget the last 3 digits, but linuxprinting.org, i did a search on it and it said that my printer was supported.

anyways i downloaded this USB device viewer and it sees it and even mentions its name, but my problem is that i cant find its device entry in /dev/***

does anyone know how to find what its device name is? mabee i dont have a driver for it, does anyone know what i should do to get it suported?

If it is a USB printer then you should look in /dev/usb/ for your printer. Mine is a local USB printer that is at /dev/usb/lp0.

Here is the link that tells you what driver to use, looks pretty straightforward:

Hope this helps

Turn on the printer, open a browser and connect to
localhost:631
then just add it. It will show up in the selection list.
