Anyone know how to do a bios flash under Linux?


My current bios is ram stupid. I did not realize it until I tried to upgrade.

Usually the manufacturer provides some sort of bootable CD/USB image to use. What does the manufacturer provide you? A Windows executable? That would seem quite unwise of them.

Do Not try to do a BIOS update under Wine. The best thing to do is first check to see if the CD/DVD that came with your computer boots DOS. If it does, use that. If not, then google freedos. I think that works fine. I've just always kept a copy of DOS around, just in case. Also, as MS3FGX mentions, a lot of BIOSes come as a floppy image with DOS on it.
