Anyone got an external USB IOMEGA 16x10x40 cdrw working?

Hi

If you have please let me know because I can't. I have SuSE 8.2 and Debian 3, pretty good systems. I got it to burn a couple of times but mostly it just crashes the system. I feel it is not far away and it is frustrating but in the end it may be incompatible with Linux. No help from Iomega support.

All modules are loaded when inserted and Cdrecord recognises it as /dev/sr0 on 0,0,0. but when I run 'cdrecord -v dev=0,0,0 -data file.img' there seems to be some input and out error and last line reads can't read disk type. But as I said it sometimes burns a disk. I have an internal dvd drive in both desktop and laptop and is on /dev/hcd. All links and fstab seem ok.

Any help would be appreciated

Jim
