any way to enable 3-d graghics on unsupported card?

Hi all,
New to Linux,(and computers in general) Just installed Suse 10.2 (2.6.18 kernel) and it works great except I can't get the 3-d acceleration to work. The computer is dual booted with Vista and the graphics work fine while using Windows. Is there any way to get Xgl to work with an Nvidia NX6200AX card? The driver seems to have installed correctly with YaST, but whenever I try to turn on the 3-d effects for features that Suse 10.2 offers (such as 3D chess, or any of the more advanced window effects, or the graphics cube) I get an error message that tells me "Your graphics card is not known to be supported by Xgl, and it is not currently configured for 3D acceleration. Xgl cannot be enabled. However, if 3D acceleration can be enabled on this card, then it might be possible to run Xgl." Will I need a different card? Might there be an update to fix this down the road? Thanks in advance.

SUSE uses proprietary software to enable 3D. Read the documentation at nVidia's site to install nVidia's software correctly.

I recommend use another distribution like Ubuntu or even better Gentoo.

Thanks for the reply
I believe that i did install the proprietary driver (per instructions i found on the web).As for the other distros, I will be trying out Gentoo from a live disk in the near future. I've used Ubuntu a little before, and will again sometime. But, will that solve this problem? I kinda like Suse and will stick with it for now.

Just go on their website download the driver follow the instruction on how to use it...
If the card is Nvidia then it will work, Nvidia has good support for linux...
Good luck......
