lirc woes - Antec Veris multimedia station E-Z
Hello, well its Fathers day, and my son bought me an IR for my pc. And of course it comes with windows software, which does me absolutely no good.
I will give specs below after the question:
When I plug the (USB) receiver in, linux see's it no problem, but I cannot get LIRC to work with it. I have searched and read google articles til my eyes bled. But found nothing that directly helped me to get this device to work. I simply would like to get the device to work with say amarok and/or xine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Opensuse 11.1, KDE 4.2
dmesg output:

input: HID 15c2:0042 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:13.3/usb5/5-1/5-1:1.0/input/input7

usb 5-1: New USB device found, idVendor=15c2, idProduct=0042
usb 5-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=0, SerialNumber=0
lsusb output:
Bus 005 Device 003: ID 15c2:0042 SoundGraph Inc. (there was more, but this is the device).
Under Yast2 hardware list, it shows the device (with above info), but it actually listed it as a mouse? And yes, just for laughs, I tried to move the mouse cursor around with it, but nothing happened.
Thanks in advance...
