Exclamation another MoBO --IBM ---any luck????





OK -it has been awhile since posted --have a "new" motherbard to use .

A IBM netvista 8305 unit(removed from such unit.). Iwas told it is a Gigabyte GA-8IGMIU rev1.2


Anyone here have any experience with this somewhat old Mobo???

From what I see in the Netvista 8305 specs looks like just a rather standard mainboard wit Intel's 845G chipset. Shouldn't make problems.

What specifically do you want to know about it? It looks like it will play just fine with Linux. I'm guessing it's an 845G chipset mobo. Unless you have a GPU card, the graphics performance will leave a lot to be desired, so stick to a lighter desktop environment. How much RAM do you have?

Lenovo maybe, Gigabyte unlikely. Could have been replaced too.

Look for a FRU code on the board.
