AMD Athlon 2600+ - power saving


Here's my CPU Info:

How to save power on this CPU? For example if i want to left computer on night to download something (ONLY that, nothing to compile etc.) and CPU is using 1-2 % of its power.Is it possible to use CPU Freq on this CPU (it's not Mobile version).

How can i know that is work? I still see in /proc/cpuinfo that CPU is 1923.947 MHz. Maybe do i have to compile into kernel CPU Freq on sth like that?

download athcool, install it and run. In the console type
athcool on
and it will run.
