Am I using OSS or ALSA??

Hi,

im using kernel 2.4.23 (stable) and I selected the VIA 82cxxx audio drivers in kernel configuration --> Sound works fine, I can hear music with mplayer and other programs...

I did just that to get sound, I didN'T install any additional program/driver/patch...

Now heres my question: Am I using ALSA or OSS? It may sound a dumb question, but
I couldn't determine this...

bye

A couple of simple ways I can think of: when your machine is starting up, see if it says "Starting ALSA..... [OK]". Alternatively, in MPlayer or Xmms or something, set it to use the ALSA output plugin. If this works you can safely assume you're using ALSA.
