alsaconf "no suported PnP or PCI card found" on nVidia Corporation MCP61 High Definit
 
Hi first of all i'm new to linux (only to weeks) on ubuntu 9.10.The problem is i can't manage to get 5.1 sound. I installed alsa but the alsaconf comand says "No suported PnP or PCI card found" could anyone help me pls. I'm on the point of giving up:|.thx

That is the same hardware I have.

I have never tried to get 5.1 sound working, stereo works perfectly. That module is used by many sound cards, you probably have in on the system already. If not it should be available from synaptic.

Yes but only the front, and the subwofer works, from the center and the back i don't get sound, and i want sound from all the system. I'm not satisfied with only 2 speakers and the subwofer working.:(
