alsaconf detects device that is un"modprobe"able


I have a SoundBlaster 16 aka snd-sb16
when i run alsaconf it detects snd-sbawe!
but when I run alsamixer it shows an error massege!
but when I
Code:
modprobe snd-sb16
and then alsamixer It works fine!
The problem is that I have to do this presedure everytime again and again!
help me please I beg you I'm desprate!

you need to set the module to autoload. I don't know what distribution you're using, but usually something in /etc will be what you want (for example, in gentoo I think it's like /etc/modules.autoload/kernel-2.x). Add snd-sb16 to the list of modules that should be autoloaded at boot, and you should be good to go.
