alsa problem


so i compiled and installed alsa , and i have sound when using kde/gnome or mpg321 , but when lounching quake 1 got sth like this : s_startup : snddma_init failed. Earlier, before i upgraded to athlon xp with new mainboard i didn't have such problem , my sound card is motherboard integrated on via chipset , using via82xx module.

ps.: sorry for my english.

and one more thing , when i'm using opensound i have good sound in quake but when launching mpg321 or xmms music plays for 10-20 seconds and then i get "output timed out" message and in kde on boot i get "cpu load to hight using null output"
