ALSA Error

I n oticed this error when I try to install ALSA.. Whats going on with it?

I'm running Fedora Core 3 with a SB Live emu10k1

/usr/sbin/alsactl: relocation error: /usr/sbin/alsactl: symbol snd_config_top, version ALSA_0.9 not defined in file libasound.so.2 with link time reference

How can I fix that?

Snipersnest 02-24-2005 11:57 AM

No one out there can give me a fix for this?? I'm sure somebody has ran into this before.

This is happening to me as well. No idea how to fix it.

So, noone has the slightest clue?? I really want my sound back!

Some info I just found out:
I am running kernel 1.6.18
I am running alsa-libs 1.0.13

However,

#cat /proc/asound/version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.12rc1 (Thu Jun 22 13:55:50 2006 UTC).

Why is it Version 1.0.12?
Thanks

Fixed my problem. Turns out I tried installing ALSA from source at one point in time. This conflicted with the ALSA installation from my package manager. I downloaded the ALSA tarball, ran ./configure; make uninstall and then reinstalled ALSA through my package manager.

Hope this helps someone
