ALi M5455 on Gentoo

I have an ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 with an ALi M5455 onboard audio card. I've tried several different things to get it working, but nothing has gotten any sound so far. Kernel is 2.6.21-gentoo-r4

Okay, I was wrong. The sound is working, but it's very quiet. I had to turn all the volume settings in alsamixer all the way up to hear it, and it's still relatively quiet. Anyone know how to fix this?

Does anybody know why the card is so quiet. It never seemed this quiet under Windows. I think these dmesg events might have something to do with it:
