Alarm noise coming from internal speaaker

HOLA. Ill get right to the point, yesterday i ran gnutella for the first time when i was downloading some things, After about 5 mins of using gnutella things started getting a bit sluggish (e.g i try to bring my home folder and it would hang for about a 1 and then display contents) after a few more mins an alarm comes on (from my internal speaker) and it would not shut off (until i shut down gnutilla and was about to log off when it shut off). Now when ever i use some programs (i run the Yast program to update suse 9.1 while surfing the net and it does it i play pretty much any game and the alarm goes off too) the alarm comes back on and when i close the programs i turns off. Now my question is why is it doing that? to much strain on my cpu? or memory? it wasn't doing that before and i had this system running for a Lil over a month.

some specs

amd duron 1.0 ghz O/C to 1.33ghz
192 mb of sdram
20GB hdd
DVD burner
250watt psu (i think)
fdd
wireless nic
suse 9.1

Thank you in advance for your help

The first thing I would do is return the system to its natural state (i.e. Don't overclock for the moment). Also check the CPU fan and/or any case fans to see if they're working correctly.

Second thing is to install gkrellm and setup the sensors to check the CPU temp, and Vcore settings just to make sure.

Hi thanks for your quick reply. First off i just OC my cpu to that speed (like 3hrs ago) and it started doin it before that so i don't think its the OCing. And second i got the program it installed but when i try to run it it says

gkrellm: error while loading shared libraries: gkrellm: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock

i know this is not the place to post software threads but if you can help with that thank you if not I'm just trying to get rid of the noise if you can help in that, i would really appreciate it. thank you

Jimmied the computer :d

I was tired of hearing that noise so what i did was unplugged the internal speaker (no noise yet :D) but i will try to install that program to check out my stats (when i get around to it) But thats to all that helped me out I really appreciate it
