Airlink USB


Hey folks!! any help welcomed

New Airlink 101 usb adapter
IBM Thinkpad t 60
ONlY new UBUNTU OS (No windows installed)

Not able to get system to recognize either the WIRED or the USB/w install CD.

Any suggestions?

First question would be what version of Ubuntu? The next would be what model of the Airlink 101?? The different models have different chipsets, and therefore, different drivers.

Wild guess...do you have an Atheros based wired NIC in your system??

model number is awll6075

i just changed the hard drive and mem cards myself - rebooted and downloaded UBUNTU 12.10 =

if there is anything else i dont know what it could be.

is there a way to look at a terminal and find out?

Yes. Leave the USB dongle unplugged, and do an lscpi and lsusb commands. Look in them for anything that looks like a network device. Chances are, your wired device will show up.

However, looking at the Ubuntu forums, your model # is posted, along with a solution, instructions, and a firmware file:
