Air2PC ver .02 friendly Distro?

I have been looking for a Distro that recognizes the card, allowing me to watch HDTV in Linux. So far the closest distro I have found is Suse 10.0 which sees the card but does not recognize the tuner the card has.

Has anyone gotten this card working with a distro other than MythTV? I was hoping to to maintain the useability of my desktop environment. It would just be nice to have the added bonus of wasting time with some HDTV viewing once in awhile.

I think you missed the point. He was asking about using an Air2PC HDTV tuner in Linux, not how to get the tv out to work on a HDTV.

I have the same supposedly compatable card and have the same problem. During the last month I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to find a solution but mone of them work. So far none of the solutions has worked.

Does ANYONE know how to get this tuner card to work?

You probably have been here http://www.hd5000.com/viewforum.php?f=2
Seems that this card should work out of the box with the latest kernel. I have a FusionHdtv lite and it worked out of the box with tvtime in ntsc mode. For atsc, I had to apply a patch to xine-lib for it to work. Of course, my card has a different chip, but I was under the understanding that the air2pc would also work.

Ok, this doesn't appear too promising. This thread has been dead for 2+ years and here I come with the same problem. I have a rev 0.2 AIR2PC card that SUSE seeing the card, but not the tuner within.

From some of the limited information I have found on the web, aparently the required firmware needs to be downloaded to the workstation which I have done. I have placed dvb-fe-bcm3510-01.fw in /lib/firmware. However, after a reboor, no improvements are found. Is there another step I am missing to get the firmware installed?

Has anyone else got their AIR2PC Rev 0.2 card up and running? My intention is to run MythTV on this workstation. However, until I can get the card running on the OS, installing MythTV is "step B" and I seem to be stuck on "step A"

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Have a look at the V4L project home page for information about supported cards.
V4L has just made some major changes in the 2.6.26 kernel though; I think I saw a comment somewhere about people working on getting the FM tuners to work. I have a Conexant CX23880 chip and the tuner (ID: 8803) is not yet supported by V4L.
