aic79xx problems under sarge 2.6.8-smp kernel
Hello all,
perhaps someone has an idea why I have those problems.
I installed debian sarge and everything worked fine, a SCSI Raid system
attached to the internal Adapatec adapters is usable.
After updating with aptitude to a 2.6.8 kernel which better suites my hardware
(dual Xeon with EM64T) the aic79xx is still loaded but I cannot see a way to access
my storage system.
The relevant infos are those

i.e. after unloading with "rmmod" and a manual reload with "modprobe"
the adapter itself still doesn't seem to be visible.
No hint appears in /var/log/messages.
Thanks for any hint
