Again Ti4200 and SuSE

Ok, i've been reading all forums and tutorials and i couls not solve my problem....

I work with a geforce 4 Ti4200 on a suse 8.2 system
when i install the nvidia-driver and reboot, i only see a black display with strage sings and nothing(ctrl-alt-F1, etc.) works.
(so i have to change back to the nv-driver)

I've already downloaded the latest drivers and modified my XFreeConfig, but it did not solve the problem.

Please help me and show me the way to 3D-graphics...

thx

Get your new nvidia diver installer here:

http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=li..._ia32_1.0-4363

Follow the instruction for SuSE. This will work on the stock kernel, e.g. k_athlon-2.4.20-38.

For further help give your monitor specs: specially vertical / horizontal scan / refresh rate and paste your /etc/X11/XF86config or XF86config-4 here

Have fun :-)

run SaX2 in the terminal before logging into Xserver - if you are already in X server, run init 3 to go to single user mode and then run SaX2
