after CD burn / cant remount USB CD

Ive happilly used a USB CD burner for several years;
however, in many situations, I want to look at the
newly burned CD_ in the drive_ as soon as it finishes...
on my system, this is possible ONLY if I reboot the
machine completely - that is, a simple log-out wont
work, and neither will opening a new terminal (works
in some similar situations).

Can anyone suggest a fix for this ?

I burn with cdrecord/wodim, using debian stable.

what if you remount the cd drive?

hooray... CD prob fixed !

well, however silly it makes me feel, I did fix this !
It was necessary only to eject the CD in the burner, then
push it back in... -now- the disk can be mounted and read,
or, with the new "windoze" look icons, clicking the icon
opens it.

Hopefully, this will help someone else who encounters
the problem.

Well, as the thread now shows, I managed to fix this problem.

Yep... remounting the drive was something else I tried
several ways, but as stated in original post, mounting
or remounting would not work without a full reboot...
that is, not without ejecting the CD !
Thanks for your reply.
