Hi, folks, this is my first posting here. Seems like a friendly group.

What can you guys recommend for a USB-to-Bluetooth adapter? I'm running openSUSE 10.2. Frankly, I'm not *that* worried; I've never plugged anything into my box that wasn't recognized immediately. But I've heard enough horror stories on this subject that it seemed appropriate to ask around.

You don't have to be an expert to reply; any info about a dongle that did or didn't work for you will be helpful.

Oh, and I'm also looking for good educational resources about Bluetooth, especially WRT Linux. I would like to know what all that alphabet soup really means.

As far as I am aware, almost all BlueTooth dongles should be supported, since they mainly use a generic chipset. There are a few chipsets that need specific support in the kernel, but all of the ones I have used just popped up as a generic USB BlueTooth adapter. I bought my latest one online from DealExtreme for ~$4, so even if the things don't work, they are cheap enough that you can swallow the cost of the failed attempt.
