Adding Windows to a Linux Hard drive

This topic title has been used in the past but the entire deal was diffrent. Here is the set...

1 40GBHDD w/SUSE 10.0 on it using 20GB space. My computer test disk need XP, so I have looked into partition and LVM in YaSt adn eit will not let me resize my 40GBHDD Linux drive. Goal; I want to resize my Linux HDD to take 8GB from it to install XP. I neverr intend to use XP save for running programs that will not run well with WINE. SOOO how can I resize my Linux Partition and install XP to about 8 GB w/o hurting Liunx, I can't afford to lose Linux, why, I am still Learning Linux and I can't format a protion of my external HDD in Linux to backup to. Anyone suggest
