Adding Printer Drivers to CUPS

I am using FedoraCore4 on an AMD 64 PC and I am trying to get it to print to a netgear print server and I am using the CUPS web interface. I have it working with another distro so I think I know the proper settings and drivers. When I go through the CUPS interface there are no Canon printers listed. I think I at least need the right .ppd file, which I found on Linux Printing page but I am not sure where to put it. I looked in /usr/share/cups/model, but it only has *.ppd.gz files. I did try looking around this forum but could not really figure it out, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction as I am still a newbie.

thanks
