Acer Aspire 3000 cannot resume from standby

Hi all,

I installed Kubuntu 6.06 about a week ago. I have had few problems with it, and I like it a lot, but there is one thing that has me stumped.

When I put my laptop (Acer Aspire 3003WLCi) into standby using the sleep key (I can't find any other way), I can't get it to resume. When I press shift or any other key, It powers up, but I get no picture on the monitor. I left it like this for a while and came back, but it was the same. I eventually had to force a shutdown. I don't get any errors when I go into suspend.

I would like to get this resolved because I perfer to keep my laptop in standby durring the night. Thanks in advance for your time.

Well, as we've probably mentioned a thousand times here, standy and hibernate are Experimental. If it's not working now, don't use it. You could always try downloading the latest kernel source and compiling your own, or wait to try it in a future release of your distro.

I noticed that I can resume from standby, but only if no programs were running when I put the computer on standby.
