Unhappy Accent on US keyboard

Well I don't know, exactly, what it is going on, but the problem it is that I need to use accentuation in Fedora Core 6 with a regular US keyboard. I found two pages that promise to solve the exact problem (http://www.tuxmagazine.com/node/1000044 and http://www.ellipsix.net/geninfo/charaset/kde3.php). The thing is that that the "U.S. English w/ deadkeys" keyboard does not appear to me on KDE to chose.

Any one have any idea? What is it wrong or where do I may find this keyboard layout to download/install? I am not the machine administrator, so I don't have the installation CD to verify, but if some one guarantee that it cames with the default release I can try to talk with the people here.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Best regards...

Talk to your network admin. I'm sure there's an RPM out there to add the setting for the keyboard you need.

Well I tried but he told me he doesn't know anything about it. Sad, very sad, but true .

Does any one knows an RPM or anything else that I could download to present mu system admin with?

Best regards...

Try some of these:

http://dag.wieers.com/
http://www.rpm.org/
http://www.freshrpms.net/
http://rpmfind.net/

...or you could always Google "fedora+rpm+your keyboard type"...

Good luck man, hope some of this helps.

This is a somewhat different direction, but have you ever used the compose key in X?
