Ac'97+Via82cxxx chipset and a laptop - IRQ problem
I have the above setup and when I look at the logs for my machine I found an error which got me to check the pci setup.I found that the ac'97 is on IRQ4 and this conflicts with 00: 0c.01 (I think ythis is the COM1 port but not sure) So how do I change the IRQ of the ac'97 and hopefully resolve the conflict and get proper sound?
Thanks in advance Lol ;-) |

Hi. I can't help you but maybe you can help me. I've got the same hardware as you but I don't know how to start to make it sound. Where can I find drivers or whatever I need? I found something at alsa-project.org but it's hard for me to install it (I'm new with Linux). Should I continue trying with this driver or is there something else I could use?. I use Red Hat 7.1. Thank you.
