about SATA hard disk's issue

I have one machine. Its configure is Intel 945G chipset,SATA hard disk.I want to install FC4 or Redhat 9,but can not succeed.
Because there is not sata driver!!!

I google the help. I get that I should change BIOS settings.
In the BIOS ,there are two choices : disable and enhance about sata interface.
From help ,I know that there should be the third choice:compatible.
But my machine doesnot have it.

Any suggestions?

How to install Redhat9 in my machine?

Thanks for your help.

Running a (very) old distro like RH9 on new kit is always going to be problematic.
Although I've not tried it, I would expect FC4 to be able to handle SATA - what happens when you try installing that ??? Pick a 2.6 kernel if you get the choice.
