Question Abit A17 Mobo compatibility?

I'm considering buying an Abit A17 motherboard, but I want to make it's penguin-friendly.
I'm a newbie, and am teaching myself Fedora 2. Linux is very cool.
Anyone have any experience w/ the A17?
Other posts suggested some issues with other Abit boards.
