ChipGenius, DiskGenius, UMPTools, APTools w/ variable levels of success.
Prefer to rebuild it from scratch on a linux distro; currently have KNOPPIX 7.4.2 and PartedMagic.
Probably need to force the sector size change to restore it to 500gb fromm 250gb (minixp).
Any other very low level linux usb tools, tricks, hacks, scripts, etc. are welcome.
An exhaustive scan has verified 500GB (512000MB)

This thing is tiny...have not been able to locate the chip yet.
Rather not dismantle again.
