3com 3c905 doesnt work

Hi

I have a 3com 3c905 network card that wont work.

I am using a qdi kd7x/600 6-al mobo with the onboard via rhine nic disabled.

I am using a 2.6.6 kernal and i have tried compiling support in and also as a module.

Lspci shows the card, but it allways times out when it does DHCP Discover and i dont get an internet connection.

I know the card works, as i used it before i upgraded my mobo (but i was using 2.4.26 then)
and also if i compile as a module i know it loads as ive added the line to /etc/rc.d/rc.modules.

Please help as i actually want to use two nics, (so i have 2 of these) but u cannot use onboard nic + another.

If you want me to post any outputs, just ask

Are you sure that the module has been loaded? What is the output of lsmod? -- J.W.

Check ifconfig eth0.. If you see packets TX and RX then it is more than likely a problem with the version of DHCP your using (you might need to update it if your pulling from say a cable modem).

i have more or less the same problem.. I have a SiS900 nic integrated into my mobo... Today I erased my Redhat 9 installation and installed a fresh Fedora Core 2.. everything seems to work properly, except the nic... On RH9 it used to work just fine...

The module is being detected (in lsmod) and also in lspci... I tried setting up a static IP, and no luck. I try using DHCP, and it successfully obtains an IP from the dsl modem/router, but it just does not log on to the internet... The computer can connect to other computers on the network, it just can't get out into the WAN.

A few hours ago (when I had RH9) it worked like a charm, so I know that it's not the NIC. I tried disabling the firewall, and the same thing happens. Help anyone?
Thanks.
