24" iMac (Intel, Nvidia) Dual Monitor Problem

Hi,

I'm installing OpenSuSE 11.2 (KDE 4.3.5 and Xrg 7.4) on a 24" Intel Core2 Duo-based iMac (iMac 6.1 / EMC# 2111) with a video card that's showing up (lspci) as "nVidia Corporation G73 [GeForce 7600 GT]".

I've got the OS installed and running. Everything looks fine on the main 24" display. However, I've plugged a 20" Apple Studio display into the external monitor port. It's not being seen by any software (Sax2, KDE Control Center, etc.) and is showing a garbled image (like what you'd get if you pushed the 1920x1200 res for the main display onto the 20" one).

At the moment I don't have any proprietary nvidia utilities or drivers installed. I want to be able to do dual-head with xinerama/continuous desktop. Any experience with this hardware, or any tips?

Thanks,
Jason

Solved. For anyone who has the same problem, installing the proprietary nVidia drivers (for my install of OpenSuSE 11.2, x11-video-nvidiaG02-195.36.15-12.1.x86_64 and nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop-195.36.15_2.6.31.5_0.1-11.1.x86_64) fixes it. You just need to use the Nvidia configuration tool to set it up.
