2 soundcards + usb webcam microphone
hw: audigy sound card, via onboard sound card, usb webcam with microphone
sw: mandrake 9.2 (final), using alsa i am trying to set up my configuration thus /dev/dsp is audigy (while most of the program sends sound there), the other dsp (2, 3) is webcam microphone and via onboard). however everytime i boot modules for webcam audio are loaded first so i get /dev/dsp -> microphone, that other module order does not interest me. i have reported this also at mandrakesoft (http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6157) i tried to plug the webcam after the boot process is finished, which resulted in /dev/dsp was really audigy /dev/dsp2 was webcam's microphone but /dev/dsp1 was still audigy (and not via). kmix then showed only via's mixer (though via had no dsp entry). my /etc/module seems like this: audigy scsi_hostadapter /etc/modules.conf alias eth0 8139too alias sound-slot-0 audigy probeall scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi probeall usb-interface usb-uhci ehci-hcd alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394 above snd-via82xx snd-pcm-oss alias sound-slot-1 snd-via82xx above snd-emu10k1 snd-pcm-oss /etc/hotplug/blacklist usb-uhci dmfe snd-usb-audio any ideas please? thank you, -- jose |
Well, I'm using Fedora and system-config-soundcard has an option for "default sound card" so maybe your distro has something similar available.
