Is the TV capable of the resolution and or refresh rate it is set to?

I have only used TV's with DVI/VGA/HDMI, i also know nothing about pclos, so im stabbing in the dark here.

I'm not sure what the refresh rates for the tv is. It's just a standard crt tv. But my only options are auto and 50Hz, neither works. And as far as the res goes, I know it can handle 1024x748 in windows, but blurs past 640x480(as most any crt tv would).
