2 cd drives


hi, i'm a to this board and to linux. i installed red hat linux 9.0. when i installed i had 1 cd-rom drive. and i'm trying to install a a cd-rw also. i've tried to mess with it, my red hat book not being much help. now i can't read (or write) either drive. does anyone have any idea how to fix it??

Can you post the output of the following commands:
Code:
dmesg | grep -i rom
ls -l /dev/cdrom*
And the contents of the /etc/fstab file.

In addition to the above, you said the you were trying to install a cd-rw and that you were "messing" with it. What EXACTLY did you do?
