2.6.x compatible ide ata100 controller card

I'm trying to find an inexpensive ide ata nonraid controller card. I bought a Highpoint Rocket100 which was advertised as Linux compatible. Much to my surprise this isn't the case with the newer 2.6 kernels. So, no longer trusting advertisements - I'd like to hear from any of you who have such cards working on your pc's.

Promise Technology is a market leader and I haven't had any trouble with my Promise Ultra 100 card in linux(bith 2.4 and 2.6 kernels).

Thanks! I researched the Promise Ultra 100 card and found similar facts. I've ordered one and will post a response to how it works out.
