[Q] Warning CPU frequency....
G'Day,
- I have a Fedora Core 3 system running on the following CPU: [root@moe named]# cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : CentaurHauls cpu family : 6 model : 9 model name : VIA Nehemiah stepping : 4 cpu MHz : 668.641 cache size : 64 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu de pse tsc msr cx8 mtrr pge cmov mmx fxsr sse rng rng_en bogomips : 1316.84 I am seeing heaps of the following in my syslogs: Nov 28 19:58:03 moe kernel: Warning: CPU frequency is 997000, cpufreq assumed 665000 kHz. Any ideas what is causing this and how I can fix it? TIA |
Is this with the default kernel with Fedora? On the vendor ID, I've never heard of such processor type, what kind of cpu is this and what's its true speed?

Also moving to Hardware where this is more suitable.
