[nForce 410]No sound from CD

Just spoiled myself with a new computer with a Biostar CRU51-M9 MB. This is probably the same as the 6100-M9. I installed slackware 10.2, followed by the nforce drivers (1.0-0310). Although I don't have the exact results of lsmod at hand, 'nvsoud' is mentioned in there. Seem to remember that it states 'unused', but not sure.

When I start X, I get some sound when KDE loads. However, there is no sound when playing audio cds

Any idea where I can start looking?

PS1 It works on WinXP Pro
PS2 Using IA32, not AMD64 (yet)

Do you have the cable between the cdrom and sound card on the motherboard? If not select Digital audio extraction play mode in xmms.
Good luck.

Thanks
Already figured out that it could be digital/analog as KDE gives startup sounds. It was indeed missing audio cable. XMMS (under xfce) now works with both.
KsCD (under KDE) to be checked for digital audio (don't know if it supports digital audio as I'm not a KDE man).

I'm not sure what version the support started in, but a look at the handbook suggests that digital playback is incorporated now.
Good luck.
