yum question

I just installed yum on my RH9 box. Quite frankly, this thing is so old that I'm afraid updating a bunch of stuff is going to break everything. Is this safe? Is it a bad idea to just plop this onto my system, and do this huge massive update?

I believe so. I run FC4 on a PII Armada m700 and yum has never caused a problem - only fixed them. If properly set up (and yum comes properly set up), yum will draw only from the stable RPM base which should be a sort of reassurance.

I wonder if there are some people out there with some yum horror stories.
