yet another nvidia problem

when i type "startx", my screen goes black, and a green cursor with a red center appears in the upper left. ctrl-alt-del and other keys dont do anything, have to hit the reboot button to get back...

hmmm... sounds fun. what card/drivers are you using? there's a few drivers on the nvidia site, but some of the recent issues have been buggy. just to get things working, try using the default nv from X11 - it's not great, but it won't crash.
