xterm: no available ptys


i am trying to cut red hat 8.0 to fit on 128 MB but i got error which cannot solve:
when i'm run startx tvm loads but i cannot run xterm.
in logs i get
xterm: no available ptys
i check what i have
none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
in fstab
and /dev/pts have 1777 prmissions

may be it occur becouse i still not fix error
mounting
none /sys sysfs defaults 0 0

but i dont know what to do

kernel is 2.4
XFree86 4.2
what is am i doing wrong

devpts - virtual filesystem to support Unix98 PTY

Try this and look for devpts:
cat /proc/filesystems
