Xterm doesn't start in home directory

After some playing around, when I open an xterm, it doesn't open in my home directory anymore. Rather, it opens in /opt/ut2004. I do not recall doing anything that would have changed it. I was just trying to open ut2004 without a window manager running and succeeded by running xinit /opt/ut2004/ut2004 in VT2

Thanks
Brandon

The starting directory for xterms and similar apps is whatever directory you were in when you started X from the console. So, the next time you quit X, cd back to your home directory and start X again - it should be back to normal.

Or you could put a 'cd' at the start of your ~/.xinitrc.
